Week One Movie List

My dear, sweet mother is a little insane when it comes to Christmas decorating. Every year she drags me out for December 26th shopping madness at the mall. She does this not because she enjoys spending time with me, or feels uncomfortable shopping alone in crowded places. Rather she knows if I don't tag along, she'll have no one to drag her three foot fiber-optic toy soldier yard ornament from store to store.

There were a few sweet moments of respite while she battled the other shoppers - who by now had forgotten all about peace and love and just wanted to return those godawful tube socks Aunt Ethel gave them to the Belk- when I was able to steal away and shop for things that I like; namely, movies and books. Lucky for me, FYE was offering some crazy good sales. I managed to pull in an impressive haul for very low prices, so I've decided to start with those movies. Some of them I've never seen before. Others, I've seen bits and pieces, or caught the tail end of them on TNT. At any rate, here are the movies I plan on reviewing January 1-8. I don't know what I'll be watching January 7th- my birthday!- so for now that's a free day.

January 1st: Groundhog Day & Grumpy Old Men
January 2nd: To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar & Private Benjamin
January 3rd: Erin Brockovich & Scrooged
January 4th: Scared Stiff & Same Time Next Year
January 5th: The Misfits & Heart and Souls
January 6th: Lovesick & Shallow Hal
January 7th: ???
January 8th: Super Fuzz (aka Super Snooper) & House of Wax (the original with Vincent Price)

I'll keep you posted as to my plans for the seventh, but until then I am

Off in search of popcorn,

M. Hollywood
